Lihat bagaimana pola nomor 2 dan nomor 4 dibalik. Pada pola nomor 1, anda akan mendapat sebuah kalimat aktif dimana susunannya yaitu subjek yang bertindak dan predikat. Sedangkan, pada pola nomor 2, anda akan mendapat sebuah subjek namun Ia yang dikenai tindakan bukan? Begitulah sistem kalimat pasif.

Artinya sama yaitu sebuah ruangan yang dimembersihkankan oleh Rika. Jadi, kunci dari sebuah kalimat pasif dalam bahasa Inggris apapun maknanya, yaitu to be, lalu kata kerja bentuk kedua atau past participle.
